Hi all.
I have noticed a change in the Fitbit iOS app since the most recent update.
In the graph that illustrates how many steps/miles you do each day I used to be able to see exactly how many miles/steps were done every 15 mins in a day by touching each bar in the graph. This feature for some reason has now disappeared which is a pain as I cannot tell exactly how many steps/miles were walked before and after a walk. To some this many not be much of an issue but when you like to log the exact distance of your walk each day then this is a problem. I guess I could just wear the wristband when I start a walk but would much rather have the feature back. Just wonder if anyone else out there sees this as a problem or is it just me?

On the app if you click on steps it shows a graph of your steps and the time, if you then click on the double arrow in the top right hand corner it used to show the intensity of the steps in different colours but it’s no longer doing that (it’s just white against the green background). I’m not sure if I have changed by mistake but I can’t find away to change it back. In the website it still shows the different colours. Can it be changed back to the different colours? Thanks!

Assuming you are on iPhone, I expect that relates to a known, oft-reported problem with the iOS app. You can see more posts of the problem on the iOS board.

I feel like it can be either, but mostly believe it’s deliberate. They had to realize this was changing, especially something so noticeable. I also have concerns because I had posted a topic on the stupid premium recipes in food section and even though many said they hated them too, the recipes remain. I just don’t know what they gained by making this change. Innocently I guess they could say the only way to fix a bigger problem was to remove the color feature. Otherwise, it could be they are going to profit in some way by changing. We would have to wait if that is the case. My main question would be did anyone with premium lose this feature?

Thank you for the post. 99% of the time it’s about the money. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere unless it’s fixed.

It appears to be a bug, though you’d think with google’s acquisition of fitbit that bugs like these wouldn’t happen. However we are just now all relegated to being nothing more than full-open beta testers. Between faulty firmware updates on the devices to flawed application updates like these, and the mediocre warranty duration in the states as opposed to the two years that’s granted to customers outside of the US.
The only reason I’m still a fitbit customer (premium account at that) is, because of the platform..or former platform as of 3.44. I don’t want to give any more money than necessary to say Apple, even though their hardware and tech are pretty much light years ahead of fitbit.
Rather sobering circumstances here, the idea of customer retention comes to mind, especially in light of 3.44’s impact on the platform. My .02 here.

I would expect to see a hotfix 3.44.1 fairly soon, as soon as it passes through Apple’s application acceptance protocols. Especially given that the scope of the bug isn’t limited to any single iOS or iPhone/iPad iteration. Though it would be nice to see some recompense by fitbit @LiliyaFitbit you might want to pass this up the respective chain. As someone who used to be in customer service myself, I would recommend focusing on retaining the affected customer base immediately.

I also am not happy with the update from July 25 and not being able to see the intensity of steps and amount of steps for the 15 minute intervals. Hope it is able to be fixed since it seems like the update has changed this setting. Currently at Fitbit 3.44 on an IPhone 11 w/ software version of 14.7.1

What is up? Why all the hemming and hawing? Nobody at Fitbit is really addressing this issue which makes it worse. I’m guessing after we buy a watch we’re of no use.

I have same phone and same issue. My iPad also has the issue

The newest update does not show color coding for intensity of steps or amount of steps taken. This is disappointing and hope it can be fixed. Have an Inspire 2 connected to IPhone 11/ software 14.7.1 update for Inspire 2 is at 3.44.

OK, I totally believe that this change was intentional. I believe that that feature has been added only for premium subscriptions. So you will have to pay to get this feature back, It’s the only thing that makes sense now!!

Look at description in App Store for Fitbit, it only discusses premium.

Any response from the development team? I understand updates can take a while to get approved and published, but at the very least a “yes we will bring this feature back” or something would be appreciated.
Until then we are in the dark and can only assume this feature isn’t coming back which is a shame. The feature in question is crucial for a lot of customers and without it, the trackers are simply not very useful for myself and many others.

I can’t believe I missed this post. If that’s the case, then I’m very happy I did not purchase the Charge 4.
I also prefer not to give Apple any more money, but their watches are supposedly top notch. Heard great things about Garmin too if you want to stay away from Apple.
Really sad they put this feature behind a paywall. Very gross. But that’s business, and now a lot of folks will take it elsewhere.

Yes, the more I get into this update concern, the more features and tracking that I depended on to regulate and evaluate my daily performance has either been downgraded or discontinued.
I was hoping it was a update programming glitch and we get a response back from FiBig that a corrective update was in the offing. But FitBit has only offered a noncommittal statement thanking the forum for input.
FitBit is demonstrating how not to communicate with devoted product clientele.
