App update messed up sleep tracker

Has anyone else's sleep times been inaccurate since the update? It will log me going to bed wayyyy earlier than I actually have. I know it's wrong cuz I have text conversation from after the time it says I'm asleep that night. And it displays nothing on the app home screen for my sleep. Not happy with this update at all.

Hello @Ashlee.M.H, thanks for joining us, it's great to have you on board! Smiley Happy

Which tracker are you currently using? In this particular case I would like to suggest restarting your tracker and then monitor it for the next 24 hours, if you experience this issue again, please reply to me with a screenshot of your sleep logs so I can check this further.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else! Smiley Wink

I have a Charge 2 and also notice that it says I'm going to sleep about a 1/2 hour before I'm in bed & I'm still walking around the house. Even though my settings say I go to sleep around 11:30, I usually lie in bed around 11pm, but takes me about a 1/2 hour to fall asleep. Last night I was moving around from 10:30pm-11:15pm & it said I went to bed at 10:45pm even though it had the pink lines for 30 min that I was "awake".

I've been having a few issues since this latest update

I totally agree.....  I hate this new version. I like the previous version, since I always forget to turn my "sleep button" on my Fitbit One. Now it's nothing but dark blue and light blue graph, and the old edit benefit is not there. Why would they change something that works. Don't get me wrong I like the Listings of your sleep log (wish you'd do the same for steps), but I do not like the screen. It is not as detailed as the original. Can we keep the good parts of the older version and just add the list of days and hours of sleep as an added bonus?? How do I contact fitbit to ask them directly/ Anyone have answer to that..? Hope to hear back from someone... Really do not like this messed up version of the Sleep tracker..

Yes they have and I don't like the new version of this sleep tracker. Nothing works the way it did before. I loved the edit function, but I also like the graph the way it was with the red and blue, showing times and minutes restless or awake or in deed sleep. This new one does not give me what I need. How do we let Fit bit know if we do not like newer version?

So you can still edit. Just click on the day & then click on the three little dots in the upper right hand corner. From that screen you can also see what times you were asleep/awake/restless....

Same here ... I've noticed since the update my go-to-sleep time is inaccurate and my awake minutes are a LOT higher (like 45 minutes last night!). Also, according to the graph I am in deep sleep for the first few minutes and last few minutes of my sleep, nothing in the middle but light sleep, some REM, and red awake points.

Doesn't seem accurate or reliable anymore.

Actually, it wasn't helpful for what I was looking for. Not sure what fitbit you have, but my log doesn't look like the one above. Also, I have no idea how to get to "suggested idea" since what looked like a link to get there isn't.  I don't understand why they have changed the graph and edit of the Sleep log. The  whole point is to see the  time and how often we are restless etc. I don't care to see the days I slept and how long. I need to see how I slept and where the interuptions in sleep were. If I forget to set my fitbit One to sleep mode, I used to be able to estimate the time I went to bed and I knew what time I awoke. Then if the log shows I was awake during the time I thought I went to sleep it showed the Red lines on the graph. I could check the time and number of minutes I was awake through out the night. This new graph is completely useless. It doesn't give us the benefits and info it did before the update. Now the one reason I keep my fitbit One was for the help in trying to regulate my sleep and get sufficient sleep. Now it does nothing for me. What a mess. Why can't fitbit leave something alone that works for the majority of people, instead of "dumbing it down" to be some oversized graph that give us nothing except the fact that we did in get some sleep. I would like it to go back to a good graph, not a cheap imitation like the one we have now.. Every time I think I'm going to start to like fitbit dashboard again, they change it up but Not for the Best, unfortunately. It gives less info, less details which is what I thought fitbit stood for.  I guess it's time to try another tracker that actually doesn't fix things that "aren't broken" and gives more details on the features without taking away the things that are still important and always were. Sad day for me. I just came back to fit bit, and now I feel it was yet another mistake. Please fix the graph for the sleep log when you go to more details to be the way it was in the past, before this  unfortunate update... How do I find the suggested idea link? thank you for your time

Problem is the graph. It is not as useful as it was before, and it doesn't give us a quick view with the little red and blue lines in the graph. I don't care that it shows "I slept" that's a given, I need to know "How I Slept" with a detailed quick look graph like it used to be. Big useless graph is almost funny and hard to believe a programmer would take away the detailed graph and make us look through this long drawn out graph, stats etc to see what we see at a glance. Love the addition of the daily step log. But that cold have just been added and everything else left alone and it would have a great update. This update is beyond horrible. Back to the drawing boards. This time take it back one update, remove the useless graph showing we "actually" slept and put back the detailed graph with the red and blue lines showing all the restless, awake and deep sleep, then add the daily step log if you want to improve it. But to improve it needs to start by going back to older graph to be used quickly and easily, then add "other features" to make the whole step window better, but "not" by taking the old Chart with all the details away. I could care less about that large screen and trying to find what it no longer has at a glance. You can improve things without completely revamping or removing favorite features.

I have I have the charge 2 and the recent updat messed up the app info for the sleep log. It changed the last few dates.  My log shows thurs then the next shows sat.  When I go into edit sleep log it shows starting on fri yet when I exit the screen says sat.  The last few days are a day off.   It shows last nights sleep list under today...essentially saying I have already slept tonight.

Agree! For me it's the chart at the top and how it puts a star next to the ones where I supposedly met my 8 HR goal. As you can see from the photos it's "starring" random nights, treating it as if I've met my goal. Secondly there's no way I had 15 hours of sleep on Saturday as the chart shows!! And the sleep time down below for Saturday shows 7 hrs 40 min. And sorry -- but I don't have the time to go in and edit each night -- the $$ we pay for the tracker should mean that it does what it's supposed to   🙂

Hello @Health_4me and @Tigergirl9123 it's nice to see you around. Have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community @Fitforfun4, thanks for joining the conversation.

@Health_4me, the new Sleep Stages were implemented as an improvement of how sleep is detailed. Here you can check your light sleep, deep sleep, REM sleep and awake times to check more accurately how you sleep. I understand you would like to get the old graph back, which is why, as I mentioned before, I would like to encourage you to submit your insight about the new Sleep States as a suggested idea to bring back the old design. I appreciate your patience and understanding.

@Fitforfun4, it is possible the Fitbit app is not showing the information of your sleep correctly, please go to the sleep section of the online Dashboard to check if your sleep was recorded here accurately. If so, please log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in. This will refresh the information and it will show correctly in the app.

@Tigergirl9123, thanks for uploading a screenshot, based on it I would like to recommend you to update the Fitbit app as this glitch on the graph seems to be affecting older versions of the Fitbit app.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please keep me posted.

My tracker on the hr  is so inconsistent. Saying I slept 1 hour lime it just shot off. And it ducks up the rest of the week. I don’t Want to have to go in and manually adjust my sleep times that’s what it defeats the entire purpose of using the Fitbit. Before I would never have this issue with my fit bit so I don’t know why the new version is so **ahem**ty anyone else have these problems or have any suggestions I never thought I’d say this but I’m so close to getting an Apple Watch bc my sleep tracking is one of the main reasons I got the Fitbit

My Charge 3 hasn’t tracked my sleep since I unwittingly accepted the new look. Totally SUCKS!. I’ve tracked my sleep successfully for years. The new upgrade screen look should have never been offered till they checked something as important as the compatibility with the Sleep function with the Charge 3.

Totally unacceptable.

I've also noticed that sleep tracking (Charge 2 HR) is spotty since upgrading to the new look in the app.
