Apple Watch compatibility

When will Fitbit and apple work together to let the Apple Watch be a fitness tracker with the Fitbit app? I love my new Apple Watch and I miss using the Fitbit app, community, and syncing my watch to the app (had a charge 2 for ages). I’m sure this has been posted a million times before, and I’ve read about the third party app that can sync, but why pay for a third party app? Especially when your Fitbit data for the last month goes out the window and is replaced with Apple, and has some pretty wishy-washy reviews. No thanks. 

Come on, Fitbit and Apple. You have a ton of users in this exact same situation and nothing has been done by either company.

It would be nice but I don't see what's in it for fitbit. We buy a watch from apple and then use fitbit's free app? If we paid to use the app then there would be a case but I'm pretty sure that would not go down well.
