Background sync does not work.

My FitBit Inspire 2 does not sync in the background. I have to manually open the App every day to sync my data. I did not have this problem on my old Android but since I switched to IPhone I can't get it to work.

Every day the FitBit App tells me to allow it to run in the background to fix it. But I have already done this. I have also tried restarting both devices, removing the bluetooth device and pairing again and reinstalling the App.

What's strange is that other features such as bed time reminder work fine in the background without having to open the App.

How do I fix this? I often miss data because I forgot to open the App every day. It's really annoying.
