Barcode scanner freeze app

Whenever I try to use the barcode scanner the entire app just freezes up. I can’t click anything after I have tried to click the barcode image. The app needs to be restarted to continue. 

I have an iPhone and the app doesn’t say it has any updates.

I have previously used the barcode scanner and I can confirm that the current version is crashing.

When attempting to launch the barcode scanner the Log Food page becomes unresponsive and the camera does not launch.

You can recover from the freeze on iOS by switching to another app, using it for a bit so iOS puts the app to sleep, and then go back to the Fitbit app and it will reload the home page in the app.
