Better way to log gym work outs?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
I've recently returned to the gym rather than walk/run step based activity (which the Fitbit/app logs nicely). I'm not finding options to manually input something like excercise bike or cross trainer and although my fit bit counts steps and active minutes it's not logging running on the treadmill as running automatically.
Just wondered if there's a way to input these activities more accurately so I can chart my progress as I have been able to do with road running.

Circuit Training, bootcamp, yoga etc. are not automatically logged.

Which fitbit do you use?  There are other ways of logging.  (manual, pressing the button)

To manual log you can follow these steps:

-Go to Track Exercise

-Log

-Type in the exercise you are doing

-Select start time and duration

-Add

I've got the charge hr. I hadn't thought of pressing the button to just log as a work out as I'm used to it automatically tracking my running and walking. I'll try that next time.
I couldn't find options for stationary bike or cross-trainer to manually log a workout.

@Catgoodey thanks for the update! In this case, if you are trying to log an activity such as stationary bike or cross trainer, my recommendation would be to manually log it or edit the log you get after you press your Charge HR's button.

To edit your workout, do the following:

  1. From your Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Exercise tile and go to your already tracked an exercise, it must show the exercise type and information.
  2. In your exercise history, tap the exercise to open the details and choose a different category.

To manually add your activity:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history. This is the tile that says "Track exercise" if you haven't worked out today.
  2. Tap the stopwatch icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Log.
  4. Tap a recent activity or search for an exercise type.
  5. Adjust the activity details and tap Add.

If your iOS mobile device supports 3D Touch, you can also log an activity from the home screen with the Quick Action menu accessed by 3D Touch.

Hope this helps! Cat Very Happy
