Blaze isn't notifying me of texts or calls

If my iphone isn't in my pocket, or in my hand I don't get the notifications.  If phone is upstairs, or if I am outside (only about 50 feet) I don't get calls, or texts.  My daughter is pregnant, and I was relying on this to notify me if she calls or texts, and it isn't working.  Any answers others than getting an Apple Watch?

Welcome to the forums @SunsetRunner

 

These devices don't sync if you're more than twenty feet away and it's the same for notifications. You'll need to have your phone closer to your Fitbit to receive them.
