Bluetooth connection for Versa keeps dropping on new iPhone 12.

Bluetooth connection for Versa keeps dropping on new iPhone 12. I must turn the Versa off and then back to reconnect. I have tried all of the suggestions of rebooting and turning Bluetooth off and on, but it “keeps looking” and will only reconnect by turning the Versa on and off. Only started with the new phone. Maybe Apple trying to get me to switch to an Apple Watch as it is very annoying to have to do this 3-4 times a day.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @garychavoustie.

I am sorry to hear your Versa keeps dropping the Bluetooth connection with your iPhone 12Thank you for trying to resolve this and providing the additional details. I understand how you are feeling and I am here to help. I recommend trying the following:

      1. On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and find your Fitbit device in the list.
      2. Find an option to forget the device.
      3. Open the Fitbit app and set up the connection again. You should receive a message asking you to allow your Fitbit device to pair with your phone. Tap Pair to approve the request.

For complete troubleshooting instructions, see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your response! I did that too! And also removed it a few times on the Fitbit app too and went through the set up again, but after awhile it eventually reverts back to being lost and I need to turn it off and when it powers up, it reconnects. Thanks!

I have a Versa 2 and it also will not sync to my iPhone. Have removed from my Bluetooth and also from Fitbit app. Now I when I try to set up in app it cannot be found. I have tried turning phone off, watch off and even deleting app. Do you have any other suggestions? Otherwise I may as well throw this watch away and look for a better one.
I have only had this watch for 10 months.

This problem continues with no solutions working. It is clear there is an issue with Fitbit, possibly not with brand new devices, but there is with my Versa and the new iOS software where it just continues to drop the Bluetooth connection. I have to turn my Versa off and restart to get it to reconnect 2-3 each day. Anytime I lose connection because of being in another room from my phone or I turn it off for some reason. It can never fine the connection again and keeps “looking” unless I power down the Versa. I’m done with Fitbit as the technology just isn’t there anymore.  Very disappointing!

Just adding that the same thing keeps happening with mine and it's really disappointing. I'd just bought new straps for my versa too and now it's just unusable. I don't have time to keep unpairing, repairing, synching, reinstalling and all that multiple times a day. I guess I'll check back at some point to see if this has been fixed but as of now I've just given up wearing it.

I’m having the same problem with my iPhone 11 and a Versa I’ve had for a little over a year. I’ve been getting the “lost Bluetooth pairing” pop up several times a day for the last week or so when I open the app. I’m also not getting notifications anymore. I’ve tried all of the suggestions above and nothing lasts more than a couple hours. It is incredibly annoying to have to problem solve this every time I try to use the app.

I've been having this issue for the past 2 weeks maybe.  Couple times a day.  I've done all the reboot/remove from bluetooth list/etc.  I have an iPhone 12 Mini.  Is it an iOS 14.3 issue?  Or on the fitbit side?

Hi everyone! Here is an approach that may help.

  • Sync your Fitbit device. Then, from the Fitbit app on your iPhone, tap Account -> (name of your device) -> Remove this Device.
  • Make sure the iPhone’s iOS is up to date.
  • Make sure your Fitbit device is not prompting you for an update.
  • Make sure your Fitbit app is up to date.
  • Restart your Fitbit device. Instructions are here

Now, go into a room with no other Bluetooth devices, as sometimes our devices can suffer from Bluetooth overload. Open your Fitbit app and set up your device again. Once it is set up, other devices should not interfere with the connection. Remember, the key thing here is to make sure everything is up to date. Good luck and please let us know if this solves the issue.

Not a fix….like everyone else, go through the process, just happens again

It’s 2023 and happening with the iPhone 13. Everything is up to date and the troubleshooting does not help. I am not getting any text messages to my Fitbit device due to Bluetooth losing connection. Obviously a fitbit software issue for 3 years.
