Bought an iphone 8+ and my device doesn't sync.

My wife and I both bought iphone 8+ this week to replace my iphone 5. My fitbit device is identified on my new phone but it won't sync up with my fitbit. My wife is having the same problem. Both our devices do continue to sync up with our old phones. I tried the chat room yesterday but the technician couldn't solve our problem. He did say that the fitbit developers are still trying to work out bugs for the new iphones and that I should continue using my old phone to sync up. This seems odd since I can't believe that fitbit would not be ready for the new iphones when they came out. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi there @bigel1951, nice to have you here and your wife in our Fitbit Community! It is possible the bond with your old phone still is active and is causing your trackers not to sync with your new iPhones. So lets try the following in case the issue persists, since I noticed you have posted your concern a few days ago.

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your old phone to see a list of associated Bluetooth devices. This list might contain only your Fitbit device or also include devices like wireless speakers, headsets, etc.
  2. Tap the name of your Fitbit device and choose "Forget This Device" or "Disconnect" (exact language will differ depending on your operating system) and try again.

See you later and keep me posted how it goes.

Dear Roberto Fitbit

Your solution does not help.On my old phone the bluetooth is on but the fitbit is not listed as a connected device so I can't follow your suggestion. However when I sync up on my new phone with the fitbit it continues to update both on my old phone and on my personal computer page. It just doesn't show the update on my new phone.

So unless someone has a solution that works I'll update on my new phone and view the results on my old phone and on my computer. I just won't be able to view on my new Iphone 8.

Update to my message to Roberto a few moments ago. I deleted my fitbit app from my old phone figuring that would let it show up on my new phone. The app on my new phone continues to update my computer via the new phone but it doesn't show on my new phone. I get the following error message:

com.fitbit.HTTP error 403

I don't know what that means.

I had the same issue. I deleted the app from my 8+ and reloaded the app. Everything then progressed normally.

Good Luck

Hi all,

Seems that my IPhone 8 is causing some problems. I am able to find it in my devices however, when I had the IPhone 6 any phone calls or texted also notified me on my Fitbit. Any ideas as to how to get that feature on my IPhone 8?

Thanks,

BTW I have tried to delete app then reload it and it still has not worked...

A day after I deleted the fitbit app from my Iphone 5 the fitbit app started updating on my iphone 8. So I guess the main lesson I learned is that fitbit only allows one phone at a time to sync up with your fitbit. So anyway for me all is now well.
