Starting 6/10 on the IOS App variable calorie deficit tracking stopped working. After a strenuous day of 5000+\- calories out, app tells me I’m over calorie in goals while actually in a 1200 calorie deficit. It has reverted to a static calorie in number with no relation to any of my goals. This is probably the main feature used on this app and it’s become dangerously inaccurate.

Hi @JTAH and welcome to the forums.
Thanks for the feedback. We are aware of a bug with changing the calorie target goal from the Today tab and are investigating.
As a workaround, we recommend updating your target Calorie goal from You tab: You -> Goals -> Nutrition -> Calories Target, since this path successfully saves the new value.
Please let us know how it goes.

I started having the same issue yesterday. I reset my nutrition goal via the You tab and when I go back into nutrition log, I see the deficit only for a quick flash and then it reverts back to the static number. Seems every one is having the same issue.

Same issue for me. Practically the only feature I used daily. No issue until I had to move my account to Google

Agreed. Frustrating because I pay for Fitbit premium monthly. I went on chat yesterday and tried to troubleshoot to no avail. Fitbit should offer a credit to their premium users if they are unable to fix this soon.

This workaround does not work at all.

I don’t think this is a good workaround since it still doesn’t allow us to switch to a deficit based goal, just a calorie goal.

Hi everyone and warm welcome to the new members.
Thank you for your patience. Our team found the cause of the issue and are currently fixing it.
Personalized calorie goals should now be showing up correctly. Please note that if you manually set a fixed goal as a temporary workaround, that fixed goal will remain until you change it.
You might still see an error message when creating or updating a food plan, but we expect to have this resolved within the next few days.
I always appreciate all your messages and feedback.

Still not working for me. Since the moderator said it was working I've tried setting different personalized calorie deficit goals and it always reverts to a fixed goal within a few seconds.

Thank you very much for the update. I think what has been most frustrating about this whole episode is the radio silence from Google so it’s good to get some information.
The problem as far as I can see it and certainly for myself is not about being able to set a calorie target. It’s about being able to set a calorie deficit target. This is a completely different thing, although related and this is what disappeared after the last app update. Can you give us an update on when that will be reinstated?
I would also be interested to know why this is not showing up as a current issue on Google‘s dashboard? Surely it is a current issue?
Finally, is it possible to find out if Google could roll back to the previous version of the app, and then take their sweet time about fixing the new one?
Thanks again for the update. Like so many other Fitbit users. I am checking the app several times a day to see if there has been any update. 🤞
