Hello @Sunbeam, welcome aboard to our community. The Food Plan provides a daily calorie estimate as well as a gauge of real-time calories in vs. calories out. The calories in vs. out gauge gives dynamic feedback of whether you are under, in, or above your selected plan's recommended calorie deficit. As the day progresses your calorie budget fluctuates based on your activity, increasing when it projects you will exceed your average daily calorie burn (for example if you go on a big run in the morning) and decreasing/normalizing when your activity slows later on. You can find more information about this in the following article: "How do I track my food with Fitbit?".
Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

I noticed that the calories out number was not right on times when I had deleted a food item out of the list from the app on my phone. There are issues with deleting items in the app and it not updating the server. If you have deleted an item for the day the calories out is off, it may be your issue too. Once I went to fitbit.com and deleted the item then synced my phone the calories out number was correct again.
