Can't figure out how to set up on Mac or on iphone and do you need to set up on both?

can you explain where step by step instructions are clear and how to set up.

All we figured out is email and password and how to charge it

Hi, @phylroth! You only need to set up your tracker once and then it will be connected to your account on any device. Check out this great article with step-by-step instructions for setup. There is also good information in the help page in general if you do some searches or check out the manual.
