Can’t update timezone in iOS app

I am running iOS 12.4 and woke up this morning to see my Versa with the wrong time (5 hours ahead of my time zone  Auckland). Checking my profile Advanced settings in the app and saw time zone was set incorrectly to Los Angeles somehow, yet “Automatic” is NOT checked. Then when i select Auckland and go back, it automatically changes to Los Angeles again in front of my eyes! 

 

Please help as i am at a wall here. My iPhone is correctly set to Auckland time zone if that matters.

ok i have sorted myself out by doing the following:

 

1) login to the fitbit website www.fitbit.com and adjusting my timezone in settings > personal info

2) syncing my versa from the fitbit app

 

now it is sticking to auckland, but because time reset backwards on me i lost a whole day of data 😞

 

what is unexplained and what fitbit should look into:

 

1) why my timezone changed spontaneously overnight 

2) why the iOS app doesn’t update timeline properly
