Challenges notifications and syncing issues

I have the fitbit ionic and an iphone XS and I have been having so many problems with the app. I am part of a large group called Warrior Mamas of the Bit and there are a lot of challenges going on as well as posts that need to be followed up, etc. My cheers and comments keep disappearing. I’m not getting notifications consistently. I can’t start challenged bc it says I am at my max when I am only in 3. My fitbit frequently doesn’t sync with a challenge. I am an admin in one of the branches of this group and it makes keeping up with and supporting the members impossible. What is going on?

Thanks for the information provided, and I'm sorry for the issues that you've had with the challenges. I understand how important is this feature for you, and I'll be here to help you out with this. About the comments, cheers and notifications not working, please make sure the Fitbit app is updated to ensure its full functionality on your iPhone. Also, if you've not done so please give a try to the following steps:

 

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Log back in to the app and check your challenges one more time.

 

If the same keeps happening, take a screenshot of what is displayed and attach it in your reply so I can take a look into this.

 

Regarding the issue when trying to start a new challenge, our team is aware about this situation experienced by some of our users and they're working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. While there isn't a time frame when the fix will be available, be sure that every feedback posted in the Community is often reviewed as this helps us to improve the Fitbit app and our services.

 

Now, with the syncing issues, as you may know there are some factors that may affect how your information sync with your challenges. For this reason, I'd recommend to make sure of the following conditions:

 

  • Steps from manually logged activities do not count toward challenges; only steps recorded by your device are counted toward challenges. 
  • You didn't use MobileRun or a third party app instead of the actual device.
  • All challenge participants are in the same time zone.

I’m having the same issue. I tried all of your suggestions and it’s still not working. Also, all of my old notifications from the past couple of weeks are missing too. I get the email notification for challenges but when I click on the icon it brings me to Fitbit app and there is still no challenge listed in my notifications.

Thanks for joining this thread and sharing that you're having this situation. Just to confirm, by notifications, do you refer to the messages or cheers/taunts sent within the challenge? May I know since when you started to have this issue? In the meantime, I'd recommend to try the following:

 

  1. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile's icon > Notifications.
  2. Under "Push Notifications", make sure the options for messages from friends, cheers and taunts and challenges are enabled.

 

About your other inquiry, does that happen when accepting a challenge, or also when starting a new challenge? If you get an error message when trying to participate in one, please take a screenshot and attach it with the instructions posted here. Also, provide me with your iPhone's model and iOS version. This information will help me to further investigate.

I just realized there was an update on my iPhone. I just installed it. Do you mind sending me a challenge to see if I receive it in the app?

Thanks for getting and updating your iPhone to the latest OS. While I'm not able to send you an invite for a challenge, you can ask your friends to see if the email invite works this time. If that's not the case, please reply back so I can continue working on this with you.
