Charge 3 loses time, won't sync with iPhone and shows grey streaks on screen

I am so disappointed with my Charge 3 and am seriously considering looking to other fitness trackers.  My newest problem is the Charge 3 is losing significant time overnight (40 minutes last night) and does not sync with my iPhone.  I still have the grey streaks which is annoying but I have learned to live with this flaw (hope you might manage to correct this issue).  Half the time the phone says it can't connect with my Charge 3 even though they are within very close proximity to each other.  I have removed the Charge 3 from my iPhone and reconnected following all of your steps and it temporarily works but soon goes back to searching.  Please advise what to do otherwise this will be my last Fitbit.  The tracker is not inexpensive to purchase but not worth the aggravation.  I purchased this one at Staples Canada with an extended warranty.  I had to replace my first Charge 3 on an extended warranty also from Staples.  My iPhone is up-to-date as is the Charge 3.  Thank you and I look forward to your response.

Welcome back to the Fitbit Community, @CanadaCan. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the issues you're experiencing with your Charge 3. Thank you for your troubleshooting efforts and the additional details. I totally understand how you are feeling and I am here to help you. Regarding the issue with screen, I recommend restarting your tracker and changing the clock face.

Time on your tracker should be corrected when you sync the tracker. You can find the additional troubleshooting instructions to correct the time on your tracker here

To resolve the syncing issue, please confirm the complete troubleshooting steps from this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? Please also do the following:

- Open Settings app on iPhone

- Scroll down, tap Fitbit -> Toggle Location to 'Always'

- Ensure toggles next to Bluetooth and Background App Refresh are turned "On"

Let me know how it goes, I'll be around.

Hello and thank you for responding to my comments.

I tried all of your ideas to no avail. In desperation I decided to remove the App and reinstall in hopes of correcting the issue of syncing as well as the clock face. This was in part as while my tracker is found, it never connects. Three quarters of an hour later I am still waiting for the Charge 3 to connect and provide me with a login number. I really do feel that this is a bit ridiculous and a waste of my time. I have the computer plugged in as well as my phone to ensure full power. The Charge 3 is fully charge and connected. I see a happy face but nothing else.

An update to what has happened.  I finally managed to get my iPhone 7 and Charge 3 to connect and was able to input the login number.  The iPhone is constantly looking for the Charge 3 so I can not set up for all day sync.  I have turned the bluetooth off both on the phone and the Fitbit app and restarted but no response.  I really don't want to remove the tracker again and have to start over.  Also when I do the push the button for 8 seconds to restart I get the happy face but it never vibrates.
What do you suggest now?

Thank you

Hi @CanadaCan, thank you for your reply. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your efforts and the additional details, I am sorry that you are going through this situation. Thank you for letting me know that your Charge 3 finally connected to your iPhone. If the device is paired, you can Tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image and turn on all-day sync option.

If you continue experiencing difficulties, I recommend giving your tracker another restart by using the 15-second method:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. My Fitbit will not sync with my iPhone. I tried the 15 second hard reset and it still will not sync. Any other suggestions? From the large number of posts reporting the same and/or similar issue, I strongly feel that Fitbit should correct the issue as it must be a software glitch. Unless I see results I will be looking to other fitness trackers as I am not going to waste my money purchasing a new Fitbit device. If you can fix the problem I am happy to stay with Fitbit but everyone has a limit.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you.

I have been syncing with iPhone 7. Can I sync on MacBook Pro? I am happy to try on this device but do want the Charge 3 to work with my iPhone. Thank you.

I totally get it, I am as equally  as disappointed with my charge three, the app is equally as appalling too, nothing syncs correctly and now the face on mine has disappeared and won't come back on. It's pretty disgraceful considering how much we pay for them. I will never purchase another Fitbit of any kind this is the third one I've had and all have let me down. 😥😥😥

All of what you're advised Lily never works I am having the same issues and looking at slot of the community comments so are slot of other people. How can you reboot the Fitbit if the face is not visible, in order to reboot you need a visual on the face to scroll to settings to reboot. I left the house this morning with a clock face came back to no clock face. This is the third Fitbit I have had problems with. The app never works for synchronization even when you click all day sync. I have had no notifications for anything. I took off the app and put it back on God knows how many times. It would be nice if we as the purchasers did not have to do the work and Fitbit just got it right for once. All things can glitch that's excepted but this is beyond a Joke. Fitbit have 100% lost my custom.
