Charge 3 will not set up with new iPad

I am trying to set up my Charge 3 with my new iPad.  The iPad has the latest OS and the Fitbit app was just downloaded from the App Store.  I get as far as pairing my tracker, then it sits trying to connect for several minutes, then comes up with the message "Something went wrong; Abort".  Nothing to say what went wrong or how to fix it.  I am getting very frustrated.

Hi @MEMacD. Welcome back. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for letting me know that you got a new iPad and for updating its OS. I understand how you're feeling about not being able to use your Charge 3, and I'll help you with this matter. I'd recommend to give a try to the following steps to get your tracker connected with your Fitbit account and syncing with your iPad:

  1. Remove your Charge 3 from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn Off any other Bluetooth connection nearby including your new iPad.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Restart your Charge 3.
  5. Turn On the Bluetooth only in your new iPad.
  6. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  7. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions.

I'll be around, keep me posted.
