Charge HR has mind of its own

FYI, I Have had my charge HR for a week now. First it drained the heck out of my iph6 battery. So I tried connecting to my computer but found out it will not be synced to both phone and computer (one or the other only). So I turned off auto sync. That didn't help so I also turn off Bluetooth. Not much improvement in battery. Once while Bluetooth was off I actually got a phone call notification on the band -not sure how that happens. I then turned off notifications and no noticible improvement. So I disconnected band from app with "Remove this Charge HR" via the Fitbit app. I then successfully connected it to my Mac via dongle. Later the same day I went to the app on my phone to enter my food. Assuming I could still use the app for Manual logging. This same night I went to sync with my Mac computer before bed and it wouldn't recognize my band anymore. I then got curious as to why and opened the app on my phone and would you know the darn thing connected itself somehow.
Just odd that I had actually removed it from my phone and connected it to my computer, and then darn thing decides it prefers my phone and connects itself.
I've tried every angle of increasing my phone battery life with the band connected but no success. Even with the Bluetooth off and Auto-sync turned off my battery has needed charged 3 times a day "only" since I got this Fitbit, but just once a day before. I feel like there is some other additional hidden connection issue or software bug that's contributing to the problems I've dealt with here.

Hello my friend @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Community Forums Smiley Very Happy! I'm very sorry to hear the inconveniences with your HR. It seems that you've tried several troubleshooting steps already, but have you tried the ones listed here

Have you checked that your Fitbit app and your tracker are running the latest version of them?

Have a nice start of the week!

Yes, after removing the band from my phone again and deleting the app permanently I was able to then re-sync to my desktop dongle. It just does not seem to be compatible with my iPhone 6s at all. I cant have the fitbit on there if my battery is going to be affected that much, and that has been a very sad story.

I then went on to the task of using other apps to log data second hand to sync to fitbit. Such as Runkeeper and MyFitnessPal. I very quickly learned that FitBit is not such a friendly syncer! This unfriendliness to share requires third party work arounds. Which means more apps. It became much more trouble than it is worth. I only now wish I had returned it to Walmart before the 14 day period.

I had scoured the internet including FitBit website and help sections for solutions. It eventually came down to me doing a factory restore on my phone to get the battery back to normal. I never was able to put the app back on my phone without messing everything up again. And there's no point in trying to mess up my phone again.

I've concluded that I will not be using this device anymore. It's just become more trouble than it is worth. It sent me down a 2 week path of testing all kinds of apps and configurations to see what synced and what did not. Its a big struggle out there and I really dont have time for it. Thats why I thought I bought the fitbit. But Fitbit is actually a mostly closed circuit ecosystem. And I already had apps I was using.

I know its tough, but I think they could do a lot better. Sure they got my $149, so hooray for them. But they did not get me, nor will they get any more money from me.

PS

I really tried to keep this civil!

Im glad theyre are others out there who enjoy it, becuase I'll be selling it on eBay soon.

Ive already disconnected and deactivated it from every thing and every app.
