Can anyone help I started cycling and using Fitbit to track and strava to upload to as Fitbit tracks heart rate. Not without trouble as some days ok others not but I track and get correct miles but then I loose the miles from my tiles? Why? It also details two activities for the day which both show correct miles ... very frustrating

Hello @Laser1, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for letting me know about this situation. Tell me, which tracker or watch are you currently using? Are the activities being auto-recognized by your device or are you starting them from the device or the Fitbit app? Have you updated the Fitbit app recently and restarted your phone as well? Additionally to this information, I would like to ask you for screenshots of your activities and the distance tile on your Dashboard. This will be very helpful for me to check this further and determine what we should do next.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

Hi
I use charge hr ( is falling apart as strap is loose but it does appear to record heart rate , )

I use it with Strava, but I set Fitbit to track my cycling activity with gps etc but when I complete it does upload to strava, sometimes heart rate sometimes not, but annoyingly it will just (Fitbit) reduce the miles say from 20+ to 4? No reason at all. So my Fitbit stats are wrong. Upon completing the ride it does initially show the correct miles but another recording as just an activity will say it’s a walk and only 4?
Very frustrating and thinking do I just discard Fitbit and buy individual heart monitor ?
Thank you

Hello @Laser1, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply to me with more details about your situation, I really appreciate it. Smiley Happy

Please keep in mind that your Charge HR does not have connected GPS and only GPS activities are synced to Strava from Fitbit, which makes me think you're currently using MobileRun through the app to record a GPS activity. With that said, that explains why the activity tracked is marked as a Walk. Now in order to improve the accuracy on MobileRun, I would like to suggest you the following:

  1. Make sure you're outside when starting the activity.
  2. Make sure the GPS symbol on the top left corner shows 3 green bars.
  3. Turn off WiFi on your phone through its Settings before starting a MobileRun activity.
  4. Go to your phone Settings > General > Restrictions and turn them off.

This will help MobileRun to get a more accurate distance reading. Give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Hello

thank you for all advice, I found that if I didn't use the activity tracker by putting it on my wrist and starting it, the Fitbit simply recorded it ok as gps whentracking an activity and my heart rate uploaded to Strava which is what I wanted BUT now the Fitbit has simply started to come apart, with the strap coming away from the actual display case, HR lights no longer illuminate I haven't knocked it as keep it for cycling but it has just started to fall apart. I feel my right arm has been cut off as so used to using it as a watch or looking at the stats. Which one would you recommend for tracking cycling and using with strava as I want my heart rate reliably picked up?  Unfortunalty I don't think my charge hr is under warranty can you help in anyway? I looked at garmin but they are very manly and dull lighting spoils them, appreciate any help in being able to return to using Fitbit mine appears to have died thank you

I appreciate you've taken the time to reply. I understand the band on your Charge HR has come apart and it's possible it is not under warranty anymore. Don't worry, I've contacted our Support team on your behalf to look into this issue further, I'm sure they will be able to provide you with some options. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for further instructions.

In case you need anything else, please feel free to reply as well. Happy stepping.

Hello Marco,

I'm currently experiencing the same issue. I also have the Charge HR and I use it alone, for running activities. I start the activity manually and, after finishing it, the device shows me the distance (not as accurate as GPS, but fairly ok and enough for me). I then go to the fitbit app or the web panel and I get to see the distance for the day, but not in the activity. It would be nice to have it there too.

Thank you in advance.

I appreciate you have taken the time to report this situation as well. Would it be possible for you to reply to us with a screenshot of how the activity shows up after syncing it? This will be very helpful for us to check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we'll be waiting to hear from you.

Hello Marco!

Thanks for your welcome. I attach two screenshots. The first of the main panel, in which I can see the total distance and also the distance every some minutes, and the second of the activity view, in which I cannot see the corresponding distance. I don't actually care if it isn't very accurate.

fitbit-cap-1.pngIt would be nice to see at least the total distance for this activity. It would be nice to see at least the total distance for this activity.

Thanks.
