Fitbit 3.6 (867) crashing on my iPad using IOS 12.4.1

I just installed your app update this morning. I tap on the icon and the app starts but before it loads it disappears. I do see the app when I hit the start button but when I touch it to bring it up it disappears. The same app on my iPhone using the same IOS is working.

I have restarted the Ipad  and I tried shutting off my IPhone incase they were conflicting. No change in the problem.

Thanks

Hello @Schooner54

I have the same iOS device (iPad) and have the current 3.6 Fitbit update. It sounds like you had the Fitbit App installed on your iPad then you had the update prompt for 3.6 but after the update your issue started? If that is correct I would suggest deleting the Fitbit app completely from your iPad and then reinstalling it. (You will not lose your data reinstalling.....just reinstall and login as normal)

😃 Please let me know if this solves your issue

I just deleted the app and reinstalled it. After I logged into the app everything is working.

Thanks

I’m having the exact same problem. Deleting, then re-installing the app, doesn’t work either. Happened only after installing the latest update.

Hello @MacCheese

Sorry your having trouble. What device and version are you installing it to? Because the update will not work if your device is not compatible. You can check your devices compatibility here: https://www.fitbit.com/devices

I have an iPhone with latest update 12.4.1. It was working fine until this last app update.

Did you check your phone type on the Fitbit compatibility link I sent you? There are different types of iPhones (Example iPhone 5, iPhone 6x plus etc)

I have an iPhone SE.

Hello again @MacCheese

Its Fitbit compatibly list says yours should be fine. I understand you deleted your Fitbit app then reinstalled it. What do you see when you reinstalled it? You said it doesn’t work..... in what way? You can’t login? It won’t complete download? Won’t sync?

if your having issues like that try uninstalling it again. First delete the app then shut down your device completely then start your device again. Attempt to install the app again. If it installs correctly then just log in as normally.

Followed your instructions and app still does not work. Re-installation looks good but when I hit the app icon it appears for a second and then disappears, just a flicker and it’s gone.

Same here on a iPhone 7. Reinstalling doesn't solve the issue. Like MacCheese said, it seems good right after the download, but when you close the app and try open it again it crashed instantly...

Do you at Fitbit test your update ? seriously

Hello again @MacCheese

Im not sure why is not downloading correctly. I’m afraid your going to have to call Fitbit Customer Service. Please be sure to tell them all the steps you took to rectify the issue or otherwise they will have you repeat them. I wish I could be more help. Good luck to you

@PaulH23  And @PaulH23

Be sure you let them know at Fitbit Customer Service that this is not an isolated incident because your both experiencing the same thing. I wonder if it’s a server outage or something. All very strange

What’s really weird is that when I go to the App Store and look at the list of apps updated recently, the Fitbit update is no longer listed.

Hi MegaBite

After I did the reinstalling of the app it worked.  I came back after 20 minutes and the app crashes. Restarted the IPad and it still crashes.

Sorry but this is still an issue

Cheers

Wow how crazy the app keeps crashing for no apparent reason! Gosh I wonder if there’s a large server outage. @Schooner54  I’m so very sorry but I’m afraid your going have to contact Fitbit Customer Service as well. Please come back and let me know what they say. It helps keeping everyone informed. I’m just a Fitbit user like yourself and I don’t work for Fitbit but I can help pass on information if you pass it back to me. Good luck to you

Same problem here. I updated the app to 3.6 version, it launch well just after the update. But when trying to open the app again it crashed again and again and again. The screen flickering and nothing happened.

Uninstall and reinstall the app don't fix the issue

@SunsetRunner I don't suspect the server but the app update. It works well after the update or a clean install but just once. When you close the app and try relaunching it, nothing happened

@MacCheese  As far as not finding the Fitbit App in the App Store .....when you go to the App Store tap search then type in Fitbit then hit search. It you don’t see it then look to the upper left of your screen and you will see “filters” .... tap that and make sure you pick iPad under “supports” only since you have an iPad.
