Is the Fitbit alpha compatible with the ipad min 2? From what Ive read the fitbit needs to connect to a device that has bluetooth 4.0, the ipad uses 2.1. Is there another way that they can connect? (Besides smartphone)
Considering getting this as a gift but want to know if it will work.
Thanks

Hi, @SunsetRunner, as long as you have iOS 8 or higher Fitbits are compatible with iPad Mini 2nd generation amd you will be able to connect and sync.
Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android

Ok. I will check that. It then connects and syncs over bluetooth?

Hello @SunsetRunner, glad to have you on board. ![]()
As @Julia_G mentioned, Fitbit trackers are compatible with the iPad Mini 2, just make sure the OS is fully updated before downloading the app. Fitbit trackers connect to the device through the Fitbit app, not directly through the Bluetooth.
When searching for the Fitbit app on the App Store, make sure to search it on the iPhone Store instead of the iPad Store. Then set up your device:
Give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else!

Ok. Will check the ios level. The person I'm getting this for doesnt have an iphone either though. So it will still work aslong as the ios version is 8? I havent give this a try yet as it will be a gift for someone.
Thanks!

@SunsetRunner, yes, I already checked the link that @MarcoGFitbit shared with you. The iPad Mini 2 is compatible, as long as the version is 8 or higher. It does not need to be fully updated.
