Fitbit Charge 3 won't get text messages from Iphone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My boyfriend and I both bought our own devices not even a month ago and it only worked properly for a WEEK. I had all of my notification settings on and I was receiving text messages on my phone. It suddenly stopped for no reason and now I won't get text messages at all. Part of the reason I bought this thing was to get text messages while at work so that I wouldn't have to get my phone out to read them. I have looked at every forum and Do Not Disturb is not on, I've held the Fitbit button down and the notification icon that pops up is on, it's connected to my phone, fully charged, and I even turned notifications while asleep on just to see if it worked. Nothing works. The weird thing is that I still get phone calls come through on my Fitbit. Just not text messages. My boyfriend is having the exact same issue and his settings are the same as mine. If there's anything that can help that would be great because I wasn't hoping to spend $150 on a piece of garbage that's as good as a $15 watch.

Hello @ToriLawson

I hope I can help.

First make sure your phone alerts are enabled in the Fitbit app:

open Fitbit app

tap profile picture on upper left side of your screen

scroll down and tap “Alta” (just under “My Family”)

scroll down and tap notifications

chose which notifications you want to receive

then just tap “Today” at the bottom of your screen to return to homepage

* if your still not receiving phone alerts then proceed to this:

O your device go to

- iOS Settings > Notifications > Messages > Show Previews > Always (Default)

lastly make sure your Bluetooth is correctly connected to your Fitbit app since the new iOS update is tricker by doing this:

How do I allow or deny Bluetooth for apps in iOS 13 or iPadOS?
  • On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Privacy > Bluetooth.
  • You should see a list of every app that requested Bluetooth access on your device.
  • Turn the switch on or off for each device.

😃 I hope I was able to help you find a solution to your issue. Please let me know if this is an acceptable solution

My phone doesn't have an option for "Alta" and it is connected to my phone via Bluetooth. Nothing else has worked to receive messages on my phone.

Hello @ToriLawson

Just replace the instructions with your name of Fitbit tracker (Alta HR, or Charge 2, etc) but the instructions are the same

Did you do the other parts of my instructions?
