Fitbit account refuses to merge with my Google account

I am using Fitbit with a non-google email login. But I was told that the Aria Air Scale problem was fixed now, so I tried to merge to my Google account, but Fitbit/Google refused with this error message... and I want you use my regular Google account and not create a new one...
