I am trying to enable location services on my iPhone6 so that I can track my runs with GPS. But the Fitbit app is not showing up in list of apps in Settings>Privacy>Location Services. How do I enable this?

Hello, I can’t get Fitbit to hold that setting. It’s set to ask and I change to always but when I go back, it’s at ask again. I’ve rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. This only came about when I transferred to my iPhone 11 pro. Any idea? Thanks!

Hello! I was able to track a 5K the other day and it worked fine.
The issue I’m having is my watch background is a weather app which needs constant location otherwise it won’t sync. Since I can’t change it from ask to always, it doesn’t work anymore. I just don’t get why it won’t save my change to always.

Always a new failure of late with my Ionic. Location services not available thread helped me get everything back running again after about 2 hours of uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting iOS numerous times and finally finding this thread that point towards the exercise app section not allowing locations services always on.
I must admit that having had an Ionic since November 2017 and now being on my 3rd replacement, it’s looking more and more like Garmin is the only choice. I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall a minimum of twice a week for the last month but like I pointed out above, the loss of all location services was a new twist.
Generally happy with the Ionic WHEN ITS WORKING, but I’m well on my way to losing my faith in Fitbit. Will the rumoured Google acquisition make it better?

And thanks Mike. This was the only thing that worked for me today.

Thanks Mike, not sure why this isn't the best answer for the problem the original post asked about.
But once again just another work around bug on my Ionic.
Now off to figure out why it says I need Pandora premium to use app when app shows I do have a Premium membership, which i do.

Thank you! Ridiculous there’s no support from Fitbit on this thread.

I’m still having issues turning location services to the “always” option.
I have reinstalled the app 4 times and it still defaults to “ask” every time I attempt to change the option

Be advised that uninstalling the app and reinstalling the app alone will not solve this problem. See the post (in this thread) about starting a new exercise... then, and only then, does the app ask you for access to location services. Once you grant it then, it will show up in the Privacy>Location Services.
If you decline this option up front, you will NOT see it in the list of Location Services.

THANK YOU!
I would never have worked that one out on my own. I have been trying to get it to work for 2 days.

This worked perfectly for mine. Thank you so much for posting. It was such an obscure fix I would never have stumbled upon it. Perfect.

I just bought the HR Charge 3, but cant use the weather app, it keeps saying I need to sync my phone. I have tried trouble shooting and it says I need to turn on my locations, but fitbit is not in my locations or on my fitbit app. I removed and reloaded the fitbit app but still no change.

My Fitbit app reverts to New York time no matter what I do. I live in Dublin so gmt should the right time. As a result my versa shows a time 5 hours behind.
I have tried literally everything. I have reset, re installed etc. It happens with my new versa and it happened with my old Alta HR. It’s clearly an app issue. Initially the location services didn’t appear in the iPhone settings. I’ve rectified that. But the app still stubbornly returns to New York about 5 seconds after I reset it.

I reinstalled my app, and still do not see FitBit in location services -- on my iPhoneX.
I'm getting inconsistent messages/reminders on my FitBit, and no weather. 😞

Thank you, after lengthy research that was the ONLY way to show up ALWAYS on my iphone 7 settings and the only way to get the weather synced to my charge 3.

Hi - I’m having the same issue with the Fitbit app not even showing up in location services. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app, uninstalled, did a hard shut off on the phone, reinstalled, all that.
i can’t turn location services on because it’s not even showing up in my list of apps - has anyone found an answer to this that works?

I followed these exact steps that someone else posted as I didn't have location services or 'always' showing as an option when I did find it-
Let’s start by tapping your exercise tile in the Fitbit app. If you don’t have the exercise tile showing in the main page of the Fitbit app (where all your current challenges are) then tap Discover at the bottom left, then tap Health & Fitness Stats, then find exercise and tap it. Look to the bottom and tap “Add to today”.... that will pop you back to the main page. Now find the exercise tile and tap it. Look to the upper left and tap the stopwatch icon. Now tap “Enable Location Services” , then open settings and make your selection. (If it doesn’t let you select always then select when using the app) .....now go back to the Fitbit app and answer WiFi prompt. Now go directly to your iOS setting and now you can change it to always.
