Fitbit app not working on iPhone 5S and shows "Can not get in touch with the topic"

About 4 days ago my Iphone stopped to open the FitBit  App. I get the information: "Can not get in touch with the topic". I am sure the reason is that I have an Iphone 5S - and after the latest update Apple only allow me to use up to iOS 12.5.4. They want me to buy a new Iphone. But the problem is also that Fitbit accepts this and connect their APP to Apples updates. Are you aware that you leave a lot of users out in this way - and is it FitBits customer policy? Or what can I and all the others in the same situation do? I do not hope your solution to the problem is the same as Apples.I have been using the FirBit App for 5 years.

@THDK   Your iPhone 5s isn't supported by Apple anymore.  This means you won't get security updates.  You should consider upgrading your phone for security reasons.

Thank you for answering me. And yes.- it works now. I was able to choose and download an older version. I did not remove my actual fitbit app before downloading (a new app)  - I simply just tried to download the fit bit app - and here I could choose an older version.
I am thankful for your advice.

Thanks for the information - wonder why you don´t mention Charge 2 in your line of products? I am very happy for my second charge 2 watch and have resently bought a third charge2 watch to ensure me this watch if my actual watch stops to function 🙂

I have an Iphone 6S.  My last IOS update is 12.5.4.  About two days ago my Fitbit app wouldn't open to sync.  In following all and support process I removed the app and tried to reinstall.  It told me I had to use a lower fitbit version which was compatible and did I want to download.  I did that but now I can't make it thru set up.  The support operator made me remove my older Alta device too and now I can't get either back on even though the devices are in fine shape.  Ugh.  Yes did the shut down of the device and other turn off blue tooth,, etc.  I did that before I messd with the app removal and reinstalling of the older version and actually got further through the set up initially.  SAD that this brand is progressing like this

@lkmatt   Please check in your iPhone settings to see if you can get a software update.  I have a 6S and have iOS 14.8.  If you can't update past iOS 12.5.4, then are you sure your iPhone is a 6S?
