I have had my Fitbit app on my iPhone for 5 years. A week ago I pushed the button to open the app and all that showed up was a white screen with the Fitbit name at the top in blue and a line across the bottom. Why and what is happening here? How do I fix this?

You can force quit the app by following the steps from this help article: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Regarding your concern, your data is uploaded to the Fitbit servers and you should be able to uninstall and reinstall the app without losing your data.

I have uninstalled & reinstalled the app but still get the white icon. Much prefer the blue. Any suggestions?

Thanks for trying to resolve this by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I recommend to force quit the app and then open the Fitbit app again. It may take a moment for it to load.
