Fitbit doesn’t log sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This morning no sleep data was captured on my fitbit and when I tried to add it, it gives a message in red letters saying “can’t add sleep log - one already exists.”
But nothing appears!

I’ve done the following:

Logged out/logged back in

Open/close app

Rebooted phone

Rebooted Fitbit

Updated app

Any ideas??

Hi @Merawen. Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding sleep. Thanks for trying to fix it on your own.

Please confirm if you've considered the following in order to get sleep stages and if you made some change when sleeping:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Please confirm that you have tried the following in the order listed:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Confirm that the Fitbit app is updated.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app, log back into your account and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Try logging your sleep one more time and let me know how it goes.

@ManuFitbit I wore my device and slept at the same position as i always do the last years that i use the watch! And it always worked perfectly well!
I didn’t use the begin sleep, never used that before!
Also, my battery was at 78%.
(By accident i pushed that your reply was the best answer and that my question was answered! But it wasn’t, so if you could take that off please in order to have more people replying?)

thanks

This does not work. Are there any other suggestions, or do some Fitbits just not track sleep anymore? I get that the person responding to this had nothing to do with the decision to en$#!+tify Fitbit; however, as a consumer and Fitbit user for nearly a decade, this is frustrating.
