Fitbit error 500 when connecting

I just got this fitbit off a friend, who deleted the app of hee phone and closed her account.

i'm not able to sync it to my phone though. I've done all the steps I could find to solve the issue:

restart the fitbit, rebooth my phone, Turned Bluetooth of and on, logged out and in fitbit account,... someone has more tips?

@MarjanD what phone are you trying to use? Is it on the Supported Devices List?

Also try restarting the tracker several times and try again

yes, iPhone 5c, software updated (iOS 10.3.3.)

i tried restarting the tracker, didn't solve the issue but will try restarting again

I dont know much about iPhones so dont know what else to suggest. I hope it comes good. If no one has ideas here try contacting Support and see if they can help you. Link in my signature

Doing a quick search I find this post. it's not much help but that Fitbit is aware of the issue. 

My thought would be to use a different device to setup the Alta possibly a computer. 

If your friend has a non ios phone. they can install the Fitbit app. then log into your account and setup the tracker. 

Now the app may be removed fronfthe friends phone and you will want to go to thwtphones Bluetooth settings and remove the alta from there. 

Now that the alta is setup your IOS phone will have no problems syncing.
