Fitbit icon at top of screen on Macbook Air disappeared

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I downloaded the Fitbit App on my Macbook Air a black fitbit icon appeared at the top R of the screen which when I clicked on it gave me the options I need to use it - synch etc. When I turned on the computer yesterday it had disappeared and when I click on the Fitbit App icon in the launchpad nothing happens.  I can still synch on my android but generally prefer to use my computer so feeling a bit frustrated.  I have turned off, logged out etc. Any thoughts?

@MariamV  thank you for your suggestions.  Unfortunately the little icon at the top only pops up occasionally and then only gives me one option which doesn't lead anywhere helpful.  I did manage to get into Fitbit to try uninstall and reinstall and I noticed that the app had been updated 13 Dec - the date the icon disappeared! So presumably this is related? I wonder what to do now? I am hopeless with the tech side - couldn't even see where to uninstall!

@cyclingcaz It's lovely to hear back from you! Yes, that definitely has something to do with the fact that your Fitbit Connect Icon disappeared. Let's get you back on track! Smiley Happy

To uninstall your Fitbit Connect, please do the following:

  1. On a Mac: search for Fitbit Connect. Open the file, then click the Uninstall icon.
  2. Restart your Macbook Air.
  3. Go to www.fitbit.com/setup.
  4. Scroll to the button and click the Download button.
  5. Find and open the file you just downloaded, then follow the instructions onscreen.
  6. Try to force sync your Fitbit device:
    1. Make sure your Fitbit device is nearby and awake.
    2. Click the Fitbit Connect icon and choose Open Main Menu.
    3. Click Sync Now. You may be asked to sign in, after which your tracker should sync with your account.

I really hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Wink

@MariamV thanks so much for trying to help me! Unfortunately when I
click on the Fitbit connect icon in the launchpad it disappears, flashes up
in the row of icons at bottom of the screen and disappears from there also!
So I can't see a way of getting into it at all.......

@cyclingcaz did you try to uninstall and reinstall Fitbit Connect already? Let's try the following to get the Fitbit Connect icon in your Macbook Air menu bar:

1. Search for "Fitbit Connect" in Spotlight.
2. Select the Application Fitbit Connect.

Give this a try and let me know how it goes!
