Hey, I had the same problem when trying to install a new Charge HR to iphone. Alta HR and Flex fine but apparently the new updates require IOS 10 to run. I was told that it will not sync to IOS below version 10 now, even though it states it is usable and functions on IOS 8 or above on the website. Needless to say, at the moment i'm not a happy bunny as i did all the research before purchasing. This may not be your problem as you may be running something more up to date, but if you are on an iphone? it won't run below IOS 10. This was told to me by fitbit support.

I do have the latest update on ios.

It's really sad to say this but Customer Service just says to do what we pretty much all know and do if anyone of us has had problems before  Reset ..full battery.. on/off bluetooth etc. and they wrote me and told me I am out of the warranty (I got HR Sept 2016) Have been having this issue since end of March 2017. They offered my something like a $10 or $20 coupon to buy a new one. what a joke!

Thank you for this but I have done all this and more. Nothing has worked.

After being told by 2 fitbit support workers that my problem was an IOS problem as I was running under IOS 10, another support said it does indeed work and I was to try another base unit. I did this with the shop I purchased it from and it was indeed a faulty unit. I am now up and running (ish, I have some glitches) so as you've had it under a year I would suggest looking at trying to pair with another devise? If it is indeed faulty it isn't "fit for purpose" so you should be able to get a refund from where you purchased it from.

Haha!!! Ya mine never syncs unless I open the app on my phone - lame. Maybe we should just be honest and say it won't? I have the new OS...and background app refresh on...and rebooted it...and resynched it...and and and 🙂
