Flex will not sync to APP

My son just got his fitbit. It has been charged and is ready to go, except we can not get it to sync to the app. When it is plugged in charging it shows 5 lights. When unplugged from charger and in band there is only one light. Does that mean it's losing its charge? Hopefully not that fast. Help please. Sad son 😞 LOL!

When the tracker is out the charger, it doesn't display the current battery charge though the progress towards the daily goal when double tapping the tracker.


Standard this is 10 000 steps (or the total steps personally set..). Each light indicates 0 - 20 % progress or 0 - 2000 steps (or 1 / 5th) of the total step goal personally set.
