On my Versa watch, the swim shows meters but in the app I have it set to yards. Can you explain ?
Also, why do you have to push the buttons to get the watch to stop tracking swim instead of touching the face like the other exercises?
Thank you!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @thebear48, hope you're doing great! Yes, you can. In your Fitbit app, under your Account tab, you’ll find Advanced settings. There you’ll find Units option. At the top is the one for Length but scroll down and you’ll find units for Swim, either Meters or Yards.
I'd recommend doing this on your Ionic too. In order to do so:
Also, once you change the units to yards on your Ionic and Fitbit app, make sure to sync your device right after to make the changes effective.
Hope this helps!

I agree. I just took my new Versa for a swim this morning and it shows meters.
Meters means nothing to me. I swam for years so through school and I'm wired for YARDS.
How can the watch show yards when swimming?
Thank you!

Where can you change this for Versa?

On my Versa, it's a very subtle change. For example, to change from 25 meters to 25 yards, follow the directions below (Swim, Settings, Pool Length). When you look at the number, there is a yards and a meters just to the right of the number. If it's set to m, just swipe the m and it will switch to yds.

Not so simple. My Versa watch shows meters but in the app I have it set to yards. Is this a glitch in the programming?
Also, you cannot touch the face to stop the swim or pause. You have to actually press the buttons the right side. Seems odd to me that all the other exercises you just touch the face.
Constructive feedback welcome.

Hi
The Ionic has many failings but the fact you have to push the button is not one. You do this because the screen touch sensor is turned off during swimming exercise. This is to prevent damage and inconsistent operation due to water on the screen. I am on my second ionic and this is one of the best things about it for me.
Have a great time swimming, it's a fantastic exercise regime .

For what reason do you need to press the catches to get the watch to quit following swim as opposed to contacting the face like different activities?

The instructions here are very old. The new app 3.5.8 doesn’t have an option to change to yards or meters in the app
