Hello @KateStuartWales and welcome to the Help forums.  The Fitbit app for an iMac is Fitbit Connect and is available at fitbit.com/setup.  But I can see from your profile that you are a new user.  If you are a new user with one of the currently available trackers and smartwatches, then this software won't help you.  None of the current trackers are compatible with Fitbit Connect.
