No need to remove your fitbit account if wanting to use in the future. When linking a new tracker.. you start where you left.

It's possible to request a account removal by contacting the Fitbit Support Team:

* Be aware this can't be reversed.

If someone links the tracker to her / his account, this will be unlinked from your account. It's possible to unlink the tracker from your account before giving away.. to prevent false steps appearing on your account if it's still linked.. and used by someone else before it's linked to her / his personal account.

On Android the tracker can be unlinked by .. (should be similiar to iOS?)

Tapping the devices button in the Fitbit App for the phone, may be required to do once more. There's a trash icon to unlink the tracker..
