How to categorize exercise in order to show Distance?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I play soccer and I want to log activity as Soccer, but I also want it to show the distance I cover when I play. If I change the activity to 'Run', the display changes to show distance covered, but I want to leave it as Soccer and still have it display distance covered. It did do this a couple of months ago, but the defaults must have changed so I wondered if there was a way I could change what is displayed for a specific exercise category. Thanks.

Hello @maxdavies236 I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that only step-based activities, such as walk and run will show you distance when categorized as such. As Soccer is not a step-based activity, it will not show you distance, so if you'd like to see it my best recommendation is to categorize your exercise as a step-based activity.

Give this a try and in case you need anything else, please feel free to reply.

Thank you for the clarification.

As I said, Soccer and Football used to display Distance, so this was a conscious change?

It doesn't make sense to suggest Soccer isn't a step-based activity. I've looked through the categories and when I indicate it was a tennis activity, it displays Distance. So Tennis is a step-based activity but Soccer isn't? I respectfully suggest this is reviewed again.

While searching the forums for answers to this issue, I saw plenty of users complaining that Weights activities were displaying Distance - and now that is no longer the case, so it seems Fitbit can review and adjust when appropriate.

Thanks for your time.
