Previous topic of the same nature has been marked as 'Solved' when it clearly isn't. For those operating the app using SI units, it STILL shows wrong units when setting your weight goal. In what universe 500cal daily deficit (so 3500cal per week) is equivalent of 1kg of fat? That is not even 400g!

One would think that if enough people raise attention to the issue, it will be quickly resolved, however, we have now 2018, 4 years of complaining, and it's still not done! How hard could it be?!

I am not sure what more detail you require? This has been an ongoing issue for years...

Just change your fitbit app units to metric and try to set a weight goal - you will see the error straight away!

I am just not sure what other information you need. This is an app-wise problem, not user-individual and has been reported numerous times for at least four years. I’ve attached the screenshot, same as other users posted in all previous threads on this issue. It is just frustrating that’s such a simple problem couldn’t be addressed by now. 05CF92EF-337B-433A-BDA3-46B4C4954975.png

With the screenshot provided I can now see what you're referring. Please note that the "Medium" plan only implies that you will lose 1.0kg (estimated) when you consume -500/day, these deficit in calories is not meant to be added as the plan also takes in consideration the calories you burned throughout the day. The plan will let you know how many calories you can consume during the day which you can check on the "Daily Calorie Estimate" tile (the one with a fork and a knife). If you'd like to know more about how Food Plans work, please check the following link: How do I track my food with Fitbit?

I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else I can do for you, please let me know.

Sorry, but you still don't understand the problem. I get that the calorie deficit refers to the delta between calories in and calories burnt. However, the numbers don't add up. Let me do the maths for you:

- 250calories/day deficit adds up to 1750calories per week. This roughly equals 194g of fat loss per week -  NOT 0.5kg as suggested in the app

- 500 calories/day deficit adds up to 3500calories per week. This roughly equals 389g of fat loss per week - NOT 1kg as suggested in the app

- 750 calories/day deficit adds up to 5250calories per week. This roughly equals 583g of fat loss per week, NOT 1.5kg as suggested in the app

- 1000 calories/day adds up to 7000calories per week. This roughly equals 778g of fat loss per week, NOT 2kg as suggested in the app.

To understand the mistake even further, please note that if you use the app using imperial units and not SI, then the conversion is broadly correct - the app equates the four different goals of 250/500/750/1000 daily calorie deficit to weight loss of 0.5lb, 1lb, 1.5lb and 2lb per week. So it looks like, what the app developer has done for the SI conversion, is that they have simply swapped the word 'pound' for a 'kilo', so that the goals say '0.5kg', '1kg', '1.5kg' and '2kg', but did not bother with changing the calories deficit to the correct amount. 1 pound does NOT equal 1 kg!
