Incorrect steps on app

My Alta is counting steps correctly, but when synced with the app the count is way off. When I open the app in the morning, before doing any walking, the app has me at 3828 steps. Help! How do I correct the app to start at 0 steps again?

Hi @LindseyOhio. Welcome! It's good to have you on board.

Thanks for sharing that your steps aren't syncing correctly. I understand how important is to get accurate data in the Fitbit app, let me help you with this matter. Just to confirm, is the issue just with your steps, or are you having a similar issue with your other stats (distance, calories, etc)?

In the meantime, let me recommend to try the following steps:

  1. Remove you Alta from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Restart your tracker.
  4. Open the Fitbit app, tap on the Alta icon > Sync Now.
  5. Enable the All-Day Sync and accept the prompt to pair via Bluetooth.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
