Inspire 2 steps disappear overnight

Just got the inspire2 for Christmas and have been using it about a week.  I had over 16,000 steps on Friday and on Saturday, my app showed only 3500.  Last night, I wouldn’t stop moving until I surpassed 10,000, and today, when I look at yesterday, the app shows 1500!  This is messing with my zone points and everything else!  What can I do to fix this?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @jmerytodd.

Thank you for sharing the details of the issue you’re experiencing. I understand how you are feeling and recommend confirming if you have a Mobiletrack paired to your Fitbit account? MobileTrack lets you use the Fitbit app without a Fitbit device by using your phone's sensors to track basic activity data including steps, distance, and calories burned. For more information, see How do I use Fitbit MobileTrack? MobileTrack may override the steps tracked by your Inspire 2 and I recommend removing it from your Fitbit account if you're not using it: How do I remove a Fitbit device from my account?

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I also have an Inspire2, bought it in autumn of 2020. My activity entries and step count for Monday January 4 are incorrect. I am missing two separate active minute entries (i categorized them myself) and at least 2,000 steps. I know this because I reached my goal and was notified of that yesterday evening, and also I saw the active minute entries and steps last night. As of today my step count for yesterday is down and 2 of the 5 active minute entries for that day are missing.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @DebbyPlayGuitar.

Thank you for joining the thread and sharing the details of the issue you're experiencing. I would like to confirm if the activities you categorized are missing active minutes and steps? What type of activities did you categorize? Did you log any activities manually? Manually logged activities override your tracker's data.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
