Just purchased the Alta, but cannot get it connect to my iPhone

Going through the steps of sepup and everything seems ok, but it stalls out right after:  "We found your tracker!".  There is a spinning sync icon in the lower left corner on my iphone display followed by "Connecting to Tracker...".  But it just stays there.

I have tried restarting my iPhone and bluetooth serval times.  But nothing seems to work.  Wondering if I have a bad device from Fitbit.  Any ideas?

I finally got mine to work!! after countless tries and got super hopeless and upset.

What DIDN'T WORK:

  • First off I own an Apple iphone 6plus and a MacBook Air
  • Called customer service and we tried every possible way and i was getting the errors of it not updating, not connecting, not able to find device, etc.
  • So customer serice agent told me to see if i can borrow someones PC or Android and try it. She said one i can get the software updated, it should then connect to my Apple products.

What DID WORK:

  • Used a PC computer (went to a family member's house and borrowed their desktop) and plug in the wireless dongle
  • Directions for resetting the Alta (pushing the button on the charging cable 3 times..there's a link somewhere around here) REALLY helps for the problems when it's not finding the tracker. After you reset it, then the 4 digit code you need to type in will pop up on the screen.
  • Once i reset the Alta, as it is plugged into the charger, and got the 4 digit code to pop up, I unplugged the alta from the charger.
  • Then i input the 4 digit code into the Fitbit Connect on the desktop screen.
  • Tada!!! Update actually went through. It found the alta! However, i did run into the very last problem after the update since it was trying to SYNC now, and it said it couldn't find the tracker. But since i saw that the software is updated i just went ahead and opened up the app on my iphone and saw that it synced automatically and everything works. 🙂

Hope this helps!!

Same here. Just tried to sync mine and it's like it just keeps searching. Also the time is an hour off!
