I've seen a few other suggestions asking to opt out of ads and to remove premium pop ups. Fitbit has openly stated that these will not be factored in, which means fitbit has a plan for these ads in the future and with Google purchasing fitbit i don't want to see the app turn into a billboard.
I'd like to make sure that going forward there are no user specific/targeted ads that appear in the app and if there is a plan to allow these in the future that there be an option to opt out of them.
According to the fitbit/google press release: "Fitbit will continue to put users in control of their data"
I don't want to see my health data used against me. For example: 1. If i forget to log water one day i don't wish to see an ad the next day for a case of water or a water bottle. 2. If my carb intake seems a little low i don't want to see an ad for pasta nor do i want to see a popup for the nearest Italian restaurant.

Hi @thenameless1. It's good to see you here in the Forums. I'm sorry for the delayed response.
Your post has been moved to the iOS board so you can receive more related responses about your inquiry, as well to keep our forums organized.
Thanks for your insight and interest in the Fitbit app's functionality. Currently we don't have further information about your request. However, you can find more about Google and Fitbit acquisition news in our official press release. In case we have more details, we'll update this thread.

@LizzyFitbit Moving the post to the ios makes "absolutely no sense" I've been monitoring the post since i posted it in the feature request. Not only was it new, but it was listed under Hot as well so it was definitely getting attention and at the time of you arbitrarily moving it, it was ranked 3 in the Hot sort!
User specific ads, which i'll reference as Google ads, affects all platforms not just ios. How did you arrive at placing it in the ios section?
There is nothing in my post referencing an iphone either that would warrant you moving the feature request from feature requests to the ios section. So you said you moved it here for more exposure, but its actually only going to result in less exposure.
It's a feature request so why doesn't it belong in the feature request section?
My request was rather straightforward, keep ads out of the app. All fitbit has to say is don't worry we'll keep them out!
I'm not sure why it was moved, but i would like to edit my title to reference its place in the ios section, but i can't. I've seen moderators edit titles on at least 2 separate occasions and i would like this title to be edited. It also appears that you edited this subject line as well!
It should read: "Keep Google Ads out of the app"
Unless, by you moving it here your hinting that Google is going to be targeting iOS users in the future.
I'm looking forward to your response or that of any moderator as to whats going on with this concern and why it was deemed not to be a feature request
Thank you!

@LizzyFitbit I understand that you guys are busy and it might not be possible to read every post, but i feel like you either glanced over this one or are missing the point entirely.
Allow me to clarify: There should no ads in anywhere! Not in the ios app! Not in the android app! Not in the windows app! Not in the fitbit.com dashboard!.
I'm not sure what moving it to the android forum would achieve. Can you explain the logic?
According to the community guidelines if i was to post this feature request in each of the forums that would be considered cross posting. Maybe i'm wrong, but i would think it would be easier for fitbit to gauge the user responses and feedback if it was centrally located in one area, as opposed to you guys having to search through 4 different forums.
I realize the moderators and community council members might not like my posts and its most likely because i'm asking for clarification as i don't understand the logic being applied. I also research the issue prior to posting so i tend to provide links and things. I try to word them in a way, with supporting info, so that hopefully the issue can be solved with 1 reply instead of going back and forth for a couple of days.
I'm a pretty straightforward person and appreciate simple straightforward answers. I'm also used to working in environments where an emphasis is placed on accountability and might be why i'm struggling on these forums.
I still don't understand why this post was moved and i probably never will, which is fine
While on the subject of keeping the forums a pleasant and collaborative environment I was wondering what your take was on a lot of users saying that they are getting apple watches? It's certainly something i haven't said as i believe it doesn't help the situation, but you guys can be reading the forums of someone with an issue and then you see someone telling them just to get an apple watch to solve the problem. What happens in that case?

That's actually a pretty genius idea. I'm a business owner and it's something I'd actually be fairly interested in. Can't help with your actual question though cause I don't know much about marketing in general, let alone about programming. I collaborate with a digital marketing agency in Singapore https://www.firstpagedigital.sg/google-ads/ for all of that fuss and I'm super content with the results I can see. I started from the bottom as one does and built my way up from there. Investing in proper marketing in ads was the best decision I could have made, so this could actually be an amazing opportunity from a business point of view.
