Keep getting "Update the Fitbit App" message

With no heads up (and quite inconvenient timing) my fitbit app on my iPhone 5S quit linking with my fitbit Alta HR mid-day.  When attempting to sync the Alta HR with the iPhone it instead automatically goes to a page where one gets the choice of "Maybe Later" which keeps the sync function locked out, or "Update App" which automatically goes to the Fitbit App store page, on which there is no "update" link.

This is not the first fumbled Fitbit software update.  Fitbit, listen to your customers; this makes users search for better-managed systems, who don't wish to serve as your beta testers, and view the Fitbit as a tool and not a hobby and want it to work without churn.  Fix this.

In the meantime, how does one find and load the update?

Hi @No-Sweat. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the Fitbit app. I understand your point of view and I'm sorry that the Fitbit app isn't allowing you to sync your Alta HR. Our team always reviews the feedback posted by our members to work on our products and enhance your Fitbit experience. I've confirmed that your iPhone 5S is a compatible device and since the Fitbit app is updated, could you please give a try to the following steps:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections that you might have nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log back in to your account.
  5.  Try syncing one more time.

If the same error message is displayed, please take a screenshot and share it so I can further investigate on my end. For instructions to attach it in your reply, check this post.

Keep me posted.
