My Fitbit has randomly changed calories to kilojoules. How do I change it back?

You should be able to do this via the iOS app.

Go into the account section of the app (select your profile at the top left if you are on the new design; select the "ID card" icon at the top right if you are on the old design). Then scroll down and select "Advanced settings". On the next screen select "units" and you should then be able to choose between kilocalories and kilojoules

Some areas use kilojoules instead of calories, but they did not used to be available on Fitbit.   I think a recent update made kilojoules available, and apparently switched to them automatically for some regions with no announcement, and some got switched who didn't want to.

To add to what @JohnnyRow said. There isn't a lot of info yet on this change. The iOS app 3.1 release notes at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2025/ mention its availability for some on iOS and the feature suggestion update at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Option-to-show-Kilojoules-in-Dashboard-and-all-a... suggests its coming to android too

Here's where I found my info; maybe the same as one of your links.

What's changed in the latest release of the Fitbit app?

iPhones and iPads version 3.1

Never mind.  I see this is the same as @SteveH's first link.
