Linking Fitbit to Apple Healthkit app

Please explain how to do this.  I have the fitbit app.  No pro, no elite, no bells and whistles, just the standard fitbit app.

So "officially" this is a feature that Fitbit doesn't support, but can be achieved using 3rd party options!

If you go to the iOS app store and search for "fitbit sync" it'll generate a list of apps that do just what you are looking for.

Personally, I've been using the one called "power sync" one of the reasons i was drawn to that one was because it's free. You will however see popups every time for their autosync option that they try and get you to purchase.

Setting up:

1.The app walks you through the setup process.

2. You'll see a prompt to enter your fitbit username and password

3. After entering your info  you'll see another popup (as seen in the picture below I grabbed a random picture off the web).

4. Here you will select the fitbit data  that you want to authorize/allow to be synced.

5. You should see some soft of confirmation and you are all set.

6. I imagine all the apps work in a similar fashion.

I should also mention that these are all 3rd party solutions and don't appear on the "works with fitbit" section of this site.  You'll want to exercise caution as to who you are given access to your account.

I can say that power sync works really well.  I haven't  purchased auto sync yet.  The only thing is data really isn't in real time.  So if you have apple health open you won't see your current heartbeat or steps being added as you are currently walking (this is something you would see in the fitbit app). Data here would only be current as of the last time you synced.

Also  i'm not too clear on this, but i don't think this app/maybe the others links to the ios app. I think it links to the fitbit servers when it pulls your data down. Depending on your use case you may want to have all day sync turned on in the fitbit app.

Are you kidding me?  I bought a fitbit, just assuming it would integrate with HealthKit.  Why on earth would it not, given that's it's whole purpose?

Are they working on it or something?
