Location Netherlands language settings

I set my location to the Netherlands (where I'm located), but I want the watch to be in English. The app says "Nederland (English)" but there's nothing in English. Can't we get language separate from location?

Welcome on board @shangsfanclub, it's nice to see you around here! Keep in mind that your tracker must use the same language as the language you use for your Fitbit account.

If the language keeps reverting to Norwegian, make sure your phone is also in the language you want. The app will grab the setting from your phone. Also, review the online-Dashboard and change the region of your Dashboard. The following post will provide the steps to take in order to change the settings.

Keep in mind that after making changes on your settings you'll need to sync right away to save them. If it still remains in Norwegian, I'd recommend to uninstall and re-install the app.

On your online Dashboard, make sure your dashboard is configured in English. In addition try to clear the cache of the web browser too. Directions on how to clear your cache on a variety of browsers can be found here: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache .

I'd recommend using your laptop or PC to go to the bottom right corner of your page:

There, you should see the above (I set mine to United States, so my language is in English). Use this to change your locale, and that should help!

On the phone do the following to change the language:

  • In the Fitbit app, find Advanced Settings and turn off Automatic for locale detection.
  • Choose your country and then sync your tracker.
  • Follow the instructions to update your tracker to use the language you selected.

As I said, Fitbit sets your language to whatever your locale is. If the language keeps reverting to Norwegian, make sure your phone is in English

I had this issue a few months ago when I bought a Laptop, for some reason the Windows version was only in Spanish and did not let me change it to English, so due to this language configuration my Fitbit Dashboard using the app was in Spanish. So, I went through my browser and the web Based Dashboard was the same. When my Windows OS was changed and it was set in multi-language OS. I set the English language option and my Dashboard was back in English.

If none of this does the trick, I suggest sending me pictures showing the phone's language settings and the settings from your Fitbit account.

I live in Guatemala, but my Fitbit app and tracker are in English even when my "Country" is Guatemala and the reason why I have this is because my phone is set to English. See my images below:

These ones are from my iPhone:

I've moved your post to the iOS App as the topic is more related here.

Hope this helps, keep me posted!

Hi Maria,

thanks for the extensive reply, but it doesn't solve my issue. Maybe it wasn't clear:

  • Everything is in English, except the Charge 3 itself
  • The locale is set to Netherlands, but the language should be English, why else does it say "Nederland (English)"?
  • My iPhone is set to English, everything is English there
  • The dashboard of Fitbit is English
  • The Netherlands speaks Dutch, Norway speaks Norwegian

So the issue is as follows:

  • The location setting "Nederland (English) doesn't make sense, as it is apparently going to Dutch
  • Locale and Language are too different things

I can bypass this by setting "Europe" which displays everything on my Charge 3 to English, but that's a little silly, isn't it? What is the use of the locale in Fitbit anyway?

Thanks for getting back @shangsfanclub! Can you please send me the same screenshots I sent to you showing the settings on your phone? Also, send me a screenshot showing the Advanced settings in your Fitbit app.

Looking forward to your reply!

only your app settings are Dutch.

that is why it says Nederland (English)

I have done all this and I set my language in the personal parameters as Europe (English).  Sometimes within just hours, it converts back to French on my Fitbit. It is so frustrating.  I would not only need to go online and change it everyday, I would have to do several times a day.  Why can’t this be fixed?
