Logging Pilates will not give active minutes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I do a Pilates class weekly.  I know it doesn't register on my Fitbit, so I add it in.  When I used to add in a 50 minute class, it would give me activity minutes and a day of exercise.  Now when I add it in, it does give me a day of weekly exercise, but not active minutes.  If I add in the same amount of time for yoga, it gives me active minutes.  Not sure why Pilates which is harder than my yoga class does not give active minutes.  I have the Alta HR.

Thank you for your help.

Hi there @marwhitney, great to have you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I don't think that the parameters for these activities have changed or at least I'm not aware of any of this, so I don't see why this would be happening like this. However, my recommendation at the moment would be to log out of the Fitbit app, see if you have any app update available. If so, update the app and then, proceed to log back in and see if after you log a Pilates sessions, it shows your active minutes there. Hopefully it will.

If you need anything else, let me know!

PS. I'm moving your post to the iOS App board for categorization purposes.

Thank you for your email. My app is updated. I logged out and then logged back in. I put in 50 minutes of Pilates. It still doesn’t give any active minutes.

Huh, that's strange. Thanks for getting back @marwhitney!

I just replicated it and it appears that indeed, logging a Pilates session for 50 minutes gave me no active minutes and logged the same activity for Yoga and it gave me more calories and did credit me for the active minutes.

My suggestion by now would be to log your Pilates sessions as Yoga sessions if you'd like. I've gone ahead and escalated this to our team for them to look into it. If I get any update, I'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks a lot for your patience with this. Anything else, I'm here to help!

Hi again @marwhitney!

I have an update for you. Our team just released the 2.88 version for the Fitbit app this morning. My recommendation would be to make sure to update your app to the latest version and see if that fixes the problem.

Let me know how it goes!

My problem still has not been resolved.  If I add in 50 minutes of pilates, it still doesn't give me any active minutes.
