Master Reset now watch will not update

My watch stop recording my sleep so I powered off and on.  Unfortunately, this didn’t do the trick so I did a factory reset on my Fitbit versa lite and now I cannot update my watch at all. It appears to be stuck in the set up screen where it indicates “To start, download the Fitbit app.com” and it will not allow me to do anything further. Any clue what I should do?

Hello and welcome the Fitbit Community @TutuEmerson 

Im sorry you had to do a Factory reset on your Fitbit Versa Lite. I see your trying to get yourself back up and running again but your a bit stuck. I would suggest this:

  1. Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and look for all Fitbit devices that show as paired.
  2. Remove all of the Fitbit devices that show up.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Run the set up process again once again as if you were using a brand new Fitbit.

Hello again @TutuEmerson 

Did you remove your Fitbit from the Fitbit app? You can check that here:

open the Fitbit App

tap profile picture 

tap Versa lite

scroll to bottom and tap remove this Versa Lite

Yes, I removed my existing and attempted to setup as a new device. The update will not complete.

Are you trying to use the same Fitbit App or did you just uninstall and reinstall a new one?

I tried both. Initially I tried using my current application. Realizing that it still wouldn’t properly update, I removed the app all together from my device and then re-downloaded the app. I also even removed my versa from Bluetooth selections (“forget the device” option from Apple setting).

@TutuEmerson This is quite odd behavior. I think you should contact Fitbit Customer Service. You can find the contact number here: https://help.fitbit.com/?l=en_US&cu=1&fs=ContactUs&co=GB

did you ever get your fitbit working because i'm having the same issue and i even have tried to install my versa lite on another phone
