I'm having the exact same issue. I have force quit, logged out and back in, restarted phone, updated the app..nothing works so far. I have 4 active challenges, none waiting to sync and the app says I can't join another because I supposedly have 5 already.

Mine is doing exactly the same since the last update! Have emailed fitbit but no help really! Say its being investigated!! Very frustrating!!
