I was originally using my gmail account for Fitbit, but I guess that alone didn’t count as it being connected to Google, so I did the changeover process today to the same email but with the Google connection. After I did, the app is now displaying my name as “nullGoogleFirstName n.”, and if I go into the display name, it shows nullGoogleFirstName nullGoogleLastName. Additionally, it keeps telling me my desired username is in use, but I am 99% sure I also used it on my account previously as it is a name I have never once had an issue with its availability online. The only thing I can figure is that it somehow bugged when I switched since the original account was on the same gmail? Any ideas would be very welcome.

Adding that the username I tried to use is the one that displays here. The issue is in the app on iOS.

Hi,
I had a similar problem. My first and last name were showing as nullGoogleFirstName nullGoogleLastname. I followed the instructions in the app to visit Google Account > Personal Info (https://myaccount.google.com/personal-info?authuser=0). As expected, my name was already correct. I tried setting up a Nick Name, but that didn't help. Finally, I just decided to modify my first name instead by adding a random letter to the end. I saved the change and then reverted it back to what it was, saving the change again. I then went back to the FitBit app (closed and reopened it first) and it was showing my correct name again. I'm guessing modifying the name fills in a database entry somewhere that FitBit uses, but is empty (hence the null value) upon migration from a regular FitBit account. Presumably, if I had waited a day or so, the name probably would have synchronised by itself, but I'm impatient 😜

Confirming this worked for me. Thank you @EastonRoyce! 🙂
