New Sleep Feature disappeared after a few days.

After the recent update with the new sleep tracker that tracks light, deep, REM, etc., sleep I only received a few days of this tracking before last night  it reverted to the old version of tracking sleep. Is this a momentary glitch or is there something wrong with the new sleep tracking?

Hello @BrendanHerring, thanks for joining us, it's great to see new faces around the Community! Smiley Happy

Which tracker are you currently using?  if you're using a Blaze or Charge 2 and have updated the tracker to the latest firmware version, I would like to suggest the following in order to get Sleep Stages back:

  • Make sure your tracker is not on low battery (you can check this after syncing your tracker, if the battery icon is on green or yellow you'll be fine)
  • Make sure you sleep for more than 3 hours.
  • Check the positioning of your tracker and verify that is not too tight or too loose on your wrist.

If you're still not getting Sleep Stages, please turn on All-Day sync by going to the Fitbit app > Account > Your Tracker. If this still doesn't do the trick, keep All-Day sync turned on, note down the time when you went to sleep and reply to me with this information.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome!

All my settings have been set as you've said and other then the pop ups telling me what the new features were last week it's never once tracked my sleep with this new method. My fit bit charge 2 is not too tight or too loss I've never had any issues with it tracking anything aside from it never tracking my sleep with the new updated method.

This exact thing happened to me today. I have the Blaze and I upgraded to the new software when it was available a week or so ago. I got the new sleep feature and it tracked it perfectly for 6 nights in a row up to yesterday. This morning when my fitbit synced to my app the sleep feature had reverted to the old sleep feature. I tried your steps outlined above and the settings are what they're supposed to be.

Same story here.

It reverted back to the old sleep style.

Except that the old sleep style had lost it's ability to click on a particular event such as restless and get a tome and duration

The other strange part is that for the 7 days it still shows the new style of sleep and you can still open it and see the types of sleep such as Deep, REM, etc. The app needs to be fixed ASAP

It's never worked for me. I updated my app the day it released and still displayed the old sleep tracker. Deleted and reinstalled the app, same thing. I've checked all my settings as well.

Not ready for prime time, I guess.

Same issue, had the sleep steps show up for 5 or 6 days. I made no change to any setting, but last night's sleep is displayed in the old format without the steps

Same issue here. Worked for a few days then back to the old method. Anyone find a fix?

Ditto here, tracked new style from 3/28 to 4/4, then reverted.

I have also done all the steps and still the new sleep pattern does not show either. I did my update last night though, so I thought that had to be the reason but I guess not since others are experiencing the loss also.

The new sleep feature disappeared for me part way through the night on Tuesday. I was awake part way through the night for about 2hours and the second part was the old sleep.

I have never gotten any REM data, does it work?  Do I have to do anything?

Same problem with my Charge2 bought a few weeks ago. It worked for a few days, then stopped. I was using the iOS app to begin and end my sleep. I exchanged my unit for a new one which has not worked at all. Support is trying to help me, but so far, no solution. They told me not to use the app to begin/end sleep. Now, I get no log. Now they told me to reset my unit. I'll see what happens tonight. And update everyone here.
