Overall weekly steps won't update right

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have had a continual problem where the app updates my personal steps with no problem—but when I go to check my overall steps for the week, at times, I’m stuck at the same number for hours—even when I’ve taken 4K or 5K more steps. Then randomly, it will decide to update correctly. I’ve tried closing out of the app and going back in and resyncing my Fitbit. I wait a minute or two and try again, still nothing. I’ve even restarted my phone; or deleting and reinstalling the app and I continuously have the same problem.

Even when I’m doing a challenge, those steps will update with no problem, but when I go to my “friends”, the numbers don’t move.

how can this be fixed??

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @rgkane.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that your overall steps for the week take a long time to update. Thanks for trying to resolve this and I am here to help. I recommend confirming if you've done the following:

  1. Verify if the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version. For instructions, see this help article.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and force sync your device: How do I manually sync my tracker or watch?

Keep me posted on the outcome. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

I’m having the same exact issues as the person from this original post. I’ve tried everything listed above, including making sure I’ve updated to the most current version of the app. I’m still having the same problem.
