How can I get FitBit to recognize i’m running with a stroller, or somehow approximate the extra work i’m doing!

I really hate to assume, but since a wrist-worn devices will not count steps when steering a shopping cart or using a walker or holding onto treadmill handles, I am going to assume you have a wrist-worn device.

And since telling you not to hold on with the hand your device is worn on is counter-productive to the exercise you are performing...

  • see if placing the device in your pocket comes close to an accurate representation of your activity.
  • or purchase an aftermarket belt clip to use when you are running with the stroller - that solution would be better than the "in the pocket" method.

If your device - you didn't say what you have - has a heart rate monitor, you need to make an informed decision as to whether steps and exercise recognition is more important than heart rate tracking - especially when heart rate is an important factor in calorie burn calculation.

And, of course, there is the option that some board posters use - wearing the device on their ankle.

Good luck - and welcome to the boards.
